CLIA Meeting Notes

Meeting called to order by Dave Smith at 7:13pm

With Rob Lamberts absence, the previous meeting’s minutes will be reviewed at the next meeting in July.

New members Colleen Nagle and Jay Jenkins were welcomed by Greg Cardinal.

Considering we’re short one CLIA Board member, an email blast will be sent to CLIA members to request a volunteer to fill the remaining position.

Committee Updates

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s report was reviewed and a motion was made by Kyle Bahr to approve and seconded by Kate Wells.

Electronic file archive: Dave Smith will create a google account to access the CLIA Google Drive account and migrate the treasurer’s data to the CLIA Google Drive.

Communications, website & member relations

Website Advertisement and Sponsor Opportunities:  The CLIA Board will reconveince during the July Board meeting to outline a plan for the website advertisement and directory sponsor opportunities.

4th of July Boat Parade: Dave Smith will host the 4th of July boat parade.  Kyle Bahr will coordinate on communicating the boat parade with lake residents.

External Relations

The AIS Grant from Dakota County was approved and Kate Wells will coordinate with Dakota County to understand when Eurasian Milfoil treatments will begin. The CLIA will cover the upfront cost of approximately $6000 and will be reimbursed $3500 of the treatment cost once the reimbursement request has been submitted by December 2019.

Algae and Weed Management

The CLIA Sponsored algae treatment was applied in early June.  Kate Wells will inquire about additional treatments and locate the original contact with Lake Management.

Weed Rebates: $1,500 worth of weed rebates have been issued (15 homeowners)

Fish Management

Kyle Bahr will connect with last year’s fish vendor to schedule stocking for fall of 2019  

Miscellaneous

Each Committee leader will create a summary document to outline their duties, responsibilities and any relevant contact details or notes relating to their committee and duties.

The contact information for the city of Burnsville related to weed harvesting collection will be listed on the website for members to use.

CLIA Google Drive access will be shared to the new board members once their email addresses have been provided.
