Fish Managment:

Too early to determine success of this springs stocking.  Plan continues to stock for again in 2019 and 2020.

External Relations:

Since I took the AIS Detector training provided by the U of M Extension in April, we asked CLIA members in July if they’d like me to inspect the Zebra Mussel detectors that we passed out to them at the spring meeting.  Three CLIA members responded, and I found no Zebra Mussels on any of their detectors.  I returned to inspect one detector again 2 weeks later, and again found no Zebra Mussels.

We received the results of the Eurasian Milfoil study from Blue Water Science on July 11. It showed moderate or heavy growth on 24 CLIA members’ shorelines.  We compared this list to the DNR APM permits that CLIA members had already signed in March for this project and found we needed 10 more signed forms.  I knocked on doors to ask for the signed forms, and obtained 6 of them.  One CLIA member refused and 3 did not respond. I emailed the signed forms, the Eurasian Milfoil study, and related information to Lake Management on July 21.  I called them the week of July 23 to confirm they received everything they needed to obtain the DNR APM permit and to do the herbicide treatment.  They confirmed they would submit the DNR APM permit request before the August 1 deadline.

Motion to adjourn at 8:45.  Motion by Michael Hughes, second by Dave Smith.

Minutes submitted by Rob Lambert, Secretary.
